Demolition company vows repairs after implosion blast damages Pennsylvania homes

SPRINGDALE, Pa. - A blast of air and dust from the implosion of two smokestacks at a shuttered coal-fired power plant in western Pennsylvania last week felled power poles and caused damage to nearby homes. 'Zero tolerance stance': Bensalem Township cracking down on illegaluse of dirt bikes, ATVs

BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, Pa. - Officials in Bensalem Township say they have adopted a "zero tolerance stance" as they crack down on illegal riding of dirt bikesand ATVs in the town. According to authorities, the Bensalem Township Police Motor Patrol Unit is conducting patrols for the illegal use of the two on private property and roadways in Bensalem. "We have taken a zero tolerance stance on this type of activity," police say. Those found to be in violation will have their dirt bike, or ATV seized and be cited for a violation regardless of age, according to Bensalem Police officials. MORE LOCAL HEADLINESLaw enforcement says the areas of Bristol Road and Grove Avenue have been significantly impacted by riders on dirt bikes and ATVs who disregard traffic and trespass on private property. Authorities also say parents will be held responsible for the actions of their children, including the payment of all fines. "It would benefit you to have a talk with your kids and let them know that riding on roadways and private property is against the law and you should discourage this type of activity," police say. On Sunday, a tanker truck carrying 8,500 gallons of gasoline was traveling in the northbound lanes when it overturned on the curve of an off-ramp. The crash caused gasoline to leak into the roadway and sparked a large fire under I-95 at Cottman Avenue, causing it to collapse into the roadway underneath it. Newly obtained surveillance video captured the moment a tanker truck carrying 8,500 gallons of gasoline crashed and caught fire underneath I-95 in Northeast Philadelphia.

Woman survives 5 days stranded in Australian bush with only a few snacks, bottle of wine

VICTORIA, Australia - The 48-year-old was found safe and well by Victoria Police after her car became bogged in mud. A woman who survived five days stranded in the Australian bush with only a few snacks and a bottle of wine was rescued by Victoria Police on Friday.According to officials, the woman from Cheltenham in Melbourne went on a vacation to Bright, Victoria, but when she didn’t make her daily call to check in with family on April 30, they became worried. Emergency services carried out extensive searches but were unable to find any sign of the 48-year-old.(Credit: Victoria Police via Storyful) But, on May 5 – five days after her disappearance – a police helicopter spotted the woman’s car at the end of a dirt road. A police van was directed by the helicopter to her location where she was found safe and well.The woman told officials that she hit a dead-end road and realized she had taken a wrong turn.

Fountain of Life Center marks Easter Sunday as homecoming for hundreds after devastating 8-alarm fire
