Scottish Government announces one death and confirms 237 new covid cases overnight

Scottish Government has confirmed. The latest figures for Scotland also showed that 237 new virus cases had been identified overnight.

It brings the death toll since last March – of people who first tested positive for the coronavirus within the previous 28 days – to 7,637.

There are currently 115 people in hospital confirmed to have the virus with 16 being treated in intensive care.The total number of positive cases since the pandemic hit stands at 222,897.To date 2,708,691 people have received their first vaccination with 661,975 having a second jab.The figures come as Scots will be able to travel across the country for exercise and to meet family from tomorrow.Meeting people outdoors is "very safe" with little chance of coronavirus being.
