(Credit: Aurora Police Dept) AURORA, Colo. - Police in Aurora, Colorado, are looking for a man believed to have doused a group of people with gasoline and then tried to set them on fire in a possible hate crime.

Authorities say on July 23 around 11 p.m. local time, a man confronted other customers at the Rocket Gas Station located on 1100 S.

Havana Street. The customers were speaking Spanish, according to police. "He told them they don't belong here and followed them to their car," police posted on Facebook. RELATED: Man arrested on hate crime charges for Times Square slashingAuthorities said the man sprayed the victims with gasoline and then looked for a lighter to set them on fire.

He then threw a rock through the back window and stole their keys. "Detectives are investigating this as a bias-motivated crime and need your help to identify the suspect," police added. "He is about 20-25 y/o, 5'06" to 5'09" and described as Hispanic or Asian."Police have released photos of the suspect and his suspected car.

PHILADELPHIA - A Philadelphia police officer has been placed arrested and charged for threatening and assaulting his former partner, who is the mother of his four children. According to the Philadelphia District Attorney's Office, Ramon Chaulisant, 33, was charged with aggravated assault, terroristic threats, theft, possession of an instrument of crime, harassment, and related charges. Chaulisant has also been placed on administrative duty and his service weapon was confiscated by authorities, the DA's Office says. According to police, in February, Chausilant allegedly struck his former partner in the face and body at her home while he was visiting his children. The officer is accused of forcing the woman down a set of stairs and kicking her front door, doing damage to the door frame. Months later, in April, Chaulisant called police to his home to make a report against his former partner, who was trying to pick up their children, law enforcement says. MORE LOCAL HEADLINESOfficials say he also told responding officers that they would find his former partner "face down."On August 1, Chaulisant allegedly broke dishes during a verbal fight with the woman at her home before threatening to kill her, breaking her car window with a free weight and stealing her laptop and iPhone,  according to the DA's Office. Authorities say the couple's four children were present at during all of the incidents. "I want to thank PPD Internal Affairs and my office's Special Investigations Unit for effectively intervening in a highly dangerous situation for a mother and her four young children," District Attorney Larry Krasner said.

MANASSAS, Va. - This man didn’t win the top Mega Millions prize, but he still won big. Malcolm Meredith, of Manassas, Virginia, bought a lottery ticket for the May 20 Mega Millions drawing, according to the Virginia Lottery.Soon after the drawing, he showed his ticket to a person who told him it wasn’t a winner, according to an Aug. 4 press release.Mega Millions winners in Virginia can claim $10K prizes; Friday's jackpot grows to $1.02 billionFOX Business reached out to the Virginia Lottery for comment.The agency revealed on its website that Meredith’s ticket had matched the first five numbers of the Mega Millions drawing, just not the Mega Ball number. Meredith held onto the ticket and weeks later, he got a second opinion and found out he won.Meredith took the ticket to the state lottery’s Northern Virginia Customer Service Center in Woodbridge, Virginia, where he learned he won $1 million, the release said."I was hoping and praying," Meredith told the Virginia Lottery.Meredith used the Easy Pick option, which meant the computer randomly selected his numbers, the Virginia Lottery reported.RELATED: Mega Millions winning numbers: $1.28B Friday drawingThe winning numbers – for the $131 million jackpot at the time – were 33-40-59-60-69, with 22 as the Mega Ball number.The odds of matching the first five numbers of the Mega Millions are one in 12,607,306, according to the Virginia Lottery.Meredith was the only person in the U.S.
