Piers Stefan Pughe-Morgan (born 30 March 1965) is an English broadcaster, journalist, writer, and television personality. He is currently a co-presenter of the ITV Breakfast programme Good Morning Britain from Monday to Wednesday each week. Morgan began his career in Fleet Street as a writer and editor for several tabloid papers, including The Sun, News of the World, and the Daily Mirror. In 1994, aged 29, he was appointed editor of the News of the World by Rupert Murdoch, which made him the youngest editor of a British national newspaper in more than half a century.

Piers Morgan has described how he contracted Covid-19 while at Wembley watching the Euro 2020 final between England and Italy on Sunday 11 July.The 56 year old, who has a sprawling garden and swimming pool in his West Sussex home with wife Celia Walden, explained that he had a fever, chills, a horrible cough as well as sneezing fits that left him exhausted.The former Good Morning Britain host told Mail on Sunday that his "confidence" that the event, which saw England lose 3-2 after missing three penalty shootouts, would be safe amid the pandemic had "disintegrated" as it was a "free-for-all".Two days after the big match, he began feeling unwell and opted to take a lateral flow test, which came back positive.
