LOS ANGELES - Crews have contained a wildfire that burned part of the Hollywood Hills area.The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a call in the 3600 block of North Barham Boulevard, which is less than two miles from Universal Studios Hollywood, late Monday night. Prior to containment, the "Coyote Fire," had stretched to at least once acre, happening right above a dog park and a nearby apartment complex, LAFD said.LAFD's Brian Humphrey said both the iconic Hollywood sign and Universal Studios will not be threatened by the fire.

PHILADELPHIA - Authorities are investigating a deadly hit-and-run crash that killed a young woman Monday night in Philadelphia's Germantown neighborhood. Officers from the Philadelphia Police Department were called to the intersection of Germantown Avenue and Culter Street just before 7 p.m. Police say a 21-year-old woman was found on the sidewalk with severe head trauma and bleeding heavily. MORE LOCAL HEADLINESThe unnamed victim was brought to Albert Einstein Medical Center where police say she died. Chief Inspector Scott Small told reporters that the victim was crossing Germantown Avenue when a speeding Tesla heading southbound struck the woman. She was hit with such force police say she was launched 12 feet in the air. Small said the wanted gray Tesla is believed to have heavy damage to the passenger's side and front windshield.

(Photo courtesy Tom Santulli) Two men have been charged in connection to the University of Missouri-Columbia alleged hazing incident that left 19-year-old freshman Daniel Santulli blind and unable to speak or walk on his own. A grand jury in Boone County, Missouri, on Friday indicted Ryan Patrick Delanty, of Ballwin, and Thomas Andrew Shultz, of Chesterfield, on a felony hazing charges, as well as misdemeanor offenses of supplying liquor to a minor or intoxicated person, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported. Delanty is around 20 years old, while Shultz is 21, according to the newspaper. Santulli, of Eden Prairie, Minnesota, outside Minneapolis, is being cared for by his parents, Thomas and Mary Pat, who have sued fraternity, Phi Gamma Delta, the owner of the house and 23 members.

PHILADELPHIA - Philadelphia police are investigating a crash that left a nine-year-old dead and a mother and another child injured. According to authorities, the crash happened in the area of Germantown and Erie Avenues just before 11:30 p.m. Chief Inspector Scott Small says officers with the 25th District and paramedics responded to the scene and found a 2017 Honda Sedan that crashed into the back of a parked unattended minibus. The Honda, with three females inside, sustained heavy damage to the front of the vehicle, Small says. Police are investigating a crash in North Philadelphia at Germantown and Erie Avenues.  Authorities say the driver, a 33-year-old woman, was transported to Temple Hospital with injuries to the face and a possible broken leg. The driver's two daughters, a seven-year-old and nine-year-old, were also in the car, according to police. Police say the two girls were transported to Saint Christopher's. The seven-year-old child is in stable condition with bumps and bruises, but the nine-year-old was pronounced dead at 11:50 p.m., Small says. Police are investigating the cause of the crash, but believe the Honda was traveling eastbound on the 1300 block of Erie Avenue. Authorities said accident investigators are processing the scene and parts of the Honda were found 100 feet west that are believed to have ended up there before the car crashed. Small says there is no evidence the driver was impaired at this time, but they believe the Honda may have been traveling at a high rate of speed. AdvertisementThis is a developing story.

PHILADELPHIA - Authorities say three people, including a child and her mother, were injured Wednesday night during a drive-by shooting in Philadelphia's Ogontz section.Officers from the Philadelphia Police Department were called to the 5700 block of Lambert Street around 10 p.m. for reports of a shooting.Chief Inspector Scott Small told reporters that a 17-year-old boy was sitting on the front porch of a property when a shooter opened fire, striking him three times. Investigators believe a 4-year-old girl who was inside the home with her mother was injured by broken glass.

PHILADELPHIA - Authorities say four people, including two teens, were shot while walking to a prom send-off party Wednesday night in Philadelphia. Officers from the Philadelphia Police Department responded to the 3500 block of Fairmount Avenue around 7 p.m.

PHILADELPHIA - A man is dead after being shot and killed while walking his dog in Kensington, according to police. Authorities say the incident happened just after 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday night. Officers with the 24th District responded to numerous 911 calls reporting gunshots and a shooting at Frankford Avenue and E Atlantic Street, police say. According to Chief Inspector Scott Small, when police and medical personnel arrived on scene, they found a man on the grond with multiple gunshot wounds throughout his body. Medics transported him to Temple Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 11:55 p.m., per authorities. The victim's identity remains unknown, but neighbors told police he is known to the area, according to Small. Police say when the victim was found, he was still holding on to a leash with his dog attached. "We're getting information from witnesses that this victim was walking a dog when two males approached him, firing multiple shots," Small said.
