The decision on Wednesday, reported by the Bay Area News Group, upheld an Alameda County trial court’s decision over what happened to Newport Beach resident Rich Ilczyszyn, 46 – a financial trader and CNBC contributor. He ended up suffering a deadly pulmonary embolism while on a flight from Oakland to Orange County on Sept. 19, 2014 – but the flight crew thought he was just being disruptive because of his odd behavior on the plane. His family had filed a wrongful-death suit against Southwest and the flight crew, saying Ilczyszyn died because the crew failed to give him any help. The trial jury returned a verdict that Southwest was negligent but that the negligence was not a substantial factor in Ilczyszyn’s death. UPPER DARBY, Pa. - Authorities in Delaware County on Thursday asked the public's help in solving a 2014 cold case about a missing mother who seemingly disappeared without a trace.Amanda DeGuio disappeared when she was 24-years-old. DeGuio was last seen at her home in Upper Darby on June 3, 2014. She left without her cell phone, credit cards, or a change of clothes. She doesn’t drive and no one knows how she left.The Upper Darby Police Department, joined by DeGuio's family, held a press conference Thursday with no update on their search.

New Jersey man admits selling unregistered pesticide to fight COVID-19

CAMDEN, N.J. - A New Jersey man admitted Thursday he illegally sold unregistered pesticides as a COVID-19 defense to government and municipal entities including the U.S. Marshals Service and the Department of Veterans Affairs.Paul Andrecola pleaded guilty in federal court in Camden to one count each of wire fraud, selling an unregistered pesticide and presenting false claims.According to a criminal complaint, the 63-year-old Burlington County man made and sold pesticides that weren’t registered with the EPA as required, and weren’t on the EPA’s list of products deemed to be effective disinfectants against COVID-19.Andrecola and others put another company’s EPA registration numbers on his products to hide the fact that they weren't registered, according to the complaint.Federal authorities alleged Andrecola made 150 sales of the unregistered pesticides between March 2020 and May 2021 and made more than $2.7 million.
