(Lahore) A Sri Lankan factory manager in Pakistan was on Friday beaten to death and set ablaze by a mob, police confirmed.Prime Minister Imran Khan said he would personally oversee an investigation into “the horrific vigilante attack” which he also called “a day of shame for Pakistan”.“Let there be no mistake all those responsible will be punished with full severity of the law,” he tweeted.Friday’s incident took place in Sialkot, about 200 kilometres (125 miles) southeast of the capital Islamabad.The horrific vigilante attack on factory in Sialkot & the burning alive of Sri Lankan manager is a day of shame for Pakistan.

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka’s Foreign Ministry expects the Pakistan authorities to take the required action to investigate and ensure justice following an incident where a Sri Lankan was lynched in Sialkot, Pakistan earlier on Friday (3).The Foreign Ministry has received reports of an alleged incident of torture and burning of the body of a Sri Lankan in Sialkot, Pakistan, said Sugeeshwara Gunaratna, Spokesperson for the Foreign Ministry.“The Sri Lanka High Commission in Islamabad is in the process of verifying the details of the incident from the Pakistan authorities,” he added.
