Piers Stefan Pughe-Morgan (born 30 March 1965) is an English broadcaster, journalist, writer, and television personality. He is currently a co-presenter of the ITV Breakfast programme Good Morning Britain from Monday to Wednesday each week. Morgan began his career in Fleet Street as a writer and editor for several tabloid papers, including The Sun, News of the World, and the Daily Mirror. In 1994, aged 29, he was appointed editor of the News of the World by Rupert Murdoch, which made him the youngest editor of a British national newspaper in more than half a century.

Kate Garraway and Derek Draper were ‘happier than ever’ before he contracted COVID 19 claims pal Piers Morgan. The presenter has opened up to The Sun about how Kate went from being on top of the world to living in a ‘terrible limbo’ and he worries that Derek may never recover.

Recalling the last time he saw the couple he spoke of a Christmas Party in his pub for which they were on a cloud after the buzz of Kate being in the jungle. ‘They were in all the papers because she was so hot from the jungle at the time.

I’ve never seen them happier, they were going to renew their wedding vows. Then that happened.’ Derek was struck down with the virus last March and remains critically ill in hospital.
