Food and Drug Administration, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and local partners are investigating a multistate outbreak of salmonella infections linked to certain products.
The CDC said 14 illnesses had been reported, with two people needing hospitalization. The peanut butter was produced at the J.M.
Smucker Company facility in Lexington, Kentucky and distributed nationwide. The illnesses have been reported in Washington, Texas, Missouri, Arkansas, Illinois, Ohio, New York, Massachusetts, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia.
