Historic Covid hotspot now has the lowest infection rate in Greater Manchester

A neighbourhood in Salford which suffered severely at the start of the pandemic now has the lowest Covid infection rate across Greater Manchester.

Broughton Park, which previously had a high infection rate, only saw six new Covid cases confirmed in the week ahead of December 7.

This makes it the only neighbourhood across Greater Manchester with a rolling infection rate of less than 100 Covid cases per 100,000 people.
