Health experts explain why you should turn your fan off overnight during the heatwave

A cooling breeze is one of the few things that can make life a little more comfortable during a heatwave - especially when you're struggling to sleep.

But health experts are warning that it might be a good idea to switch off your trusty fan overnight, the Mirror reports. According to the Sleep Advisor, there are a number of reasons it may be bad for your health to sleep with your fan on.

It comes as the Met Office issued its first ever 'Extreme Heat Warning' across much of the UK, with temperatures set to rise to around 33C.
