Gareth Malone shares health update over 'very worrying' diagnosis

BBC The One Show on Thursday (June 16) he said he was "very worried" after hearing a "really high-pitched noise" in his right ear all the time after suffering a bad sinus infection.

The musician and choirmaster said: "In 2013 I got a sinus infection. . . afterward I could hear this really high pitched noise in my right ear, just all the time.

I was very worried because I didn't know what it meant. Was it going to get louder,? Would I lose my hearing?" Gareth went to see a specialist and was told he had also slightly lost his hearing. And while he has "got used to it" and is "able to live with" and work, he urged fans to wear earplugs when listening to loud music and pleaded with them to look after their hearing as he went to see an audiologist about new technology that could help rid him of his tinnitus.
