Jahlil Williams, 23, was taken into custody by U.S. Marshals Tuesday morning, two months after authorities issued an arrest warrant in the killing of 14-year-old Samir Jefferson.

Qadir Johnson, 20, and Kyair Garnett were arrested and charged with murder and other crimes in the wake of Jefferson's death.

Haneef Roberson, another suspect in Jefferson's murder, was arrested near Atlanta in early January. "Our sincerest hope is that this arrest will help bring some semblance of closure to the Jefferson family, and to Samir’s fellow 9th graders who were impacted by this senseless murder," U.S.

North Philadelphia school locked down after shooting nearby

PHILADELPHIA - A North Philadelphia school went into a lockdown Tuesday morning as police investigated a shooting nearby. The shooting happened on the 2400 block of Diamond Street around 8:30 a.m. Following the incident, the William Dick School went into a lockdown.The circumstances surrounding the shooting are unknown at this time.

Allens Lane in Mount Airy rededicated to honor Black leader Richard Allen

PHILADELPHIA - A street in Mount Airy was rededicated Monday to honor Richard Allen, one of America’s most influential Black leaders. Allens Lane was originally named after former Philadelphia mayor William Allen. He was one of the wealthiest in Philadelphia during his time, using his money to support public interests including the building of Independence Hall and the establishment of the University of Pennsylvania. William Allen also opposed the Declaration of Independence and was a known slave owner. The street has now been rededicated to honor Richard Allen, a former slave who started the African Methodist Episcopal Church, which became the first national Black church denomination in the United States. Richard Allen fought endlessly for racial justice and equality.

Suns hold off Sixers 114-109 for NBA-best 44th victory

Man accused of shooting woman who bumped into him at store captured near West Chester University

WEST CHESTER, Pa. - Authorities arrested a man accused of following a woman home and shooting her after she bumped into him at a Coatesville grocery store last month. Moenell Coleman, 25, was taken into custody Friday near the campus of West Chester University, according to authorities. It's believed that Coleman was hiding out with a friend who lives in a student apartment complex on the 100 block of Carey Drive.According to investigators, Coleman became irate when a woman in her 20s accidentally bumped into him at Coatesville Market on East Lincoln Highway in late January.
