SURFSIDE, Fla. - The search for victims of a Florida condo collapse continued Monday with the death toll at 90 people and more than 30 still missing as search crews pressed on in their commitment to finding every single victim.
Miami-Dade Fire Chief Alan Cominsky estimated that the recovery operation would take weeks but said the exact timeline remained uncertain."To give you an answer when we feel we’ll recover everyone, I can’t give you an exact date," the fire chief said. "We’re doing everything that we can — everything possible — until we feel that we’ve delayered every floor."Officials on Sunday said 90 deaths have now been confirmed in the June 24 collapse of the 12-story Champlain Towers South in Surfside, located just north of Miami.
