Five more COVID-19 deaths recorded in Perth and Kinross

Perth and Kinross last week - despite a slight decrease in the infection rate. It is the highest weekly figure since six were recorded in the final week in February.It brings the total number of death certificates to record the coronavirus as a cause of death in the region to 280 since the crisis began last year.And it marks the fifth week in a row of deaths related to the virus being recorded, with 12 residents passing away in that time.The Scottish total of 135 deaths that same week is nearly double the 78 recorded the previous week and is the highest total since the first week of March.However, with the vaccine programme continuing it still remains below the peak of April last year and January this year, with local infection rates.
