Five Greater Manchester boroughs are to get extra government support to combat coronavirus this winter, reports claim. Bolton, Rochdale, Manchester, Oldham and Tameside are among 20 local authorities which have been classed as areas of 'enduring transmission', Sky News reports.
It means they could 'receive a tailored package to support them until potentially March 2022', the broadcaster says. Bolton is one of four areas set to receive help from October 22, while extra support could be given to the other 16 places from November 5.
