Eight hospitals have said they currently have no admitted patients being treated for Covid-19, as the number of patients in the hospital system overall has fallen to its lowest in nine months.
Health Service Executive CEO Paul Reid said there are no inpatients with the disease at St James's Hospital or Tallaght University Hospital in Dublin.
In a post on Twitter, he said other hospitals with no Covid-19 inpatients include Naas General Hospital, Midlands Regional Hospital Tullamore, Sligo University Hospital and University Hospital Galway.
There are also no cases of the disease being treated at Ireland's three main children's hospitals. At the peak of the third wave of the virus on 18 January, there were 2,020 people being treated in
