Her statement came as Health Secretary Humza Yousaf announced that taxis would be used to help patients get to hospital if ambulances aren't available.

The Scottish Government announced that 18 people had died from coronavirus in the last 24-hour period.It brings the death toll since last March – of people who first tested positive for the virus within the previous 28 days – to 8,396.The latest figures for Scotland showed that 2,870 new cases had been identified in the last 24 hours.There are currently 1,107 people in hospital confirmed to have the virus,.
