An adviser to Nicola Sturgeon on the covid pandemic has announced that Scots could be asked to wear masks all day at their workplace if they can't work from home.
Professor Linda Bauld, an expert in public health at the University of Edinburgh, said case numbers of the deadly virus have been too high across the country.
Earlier this week Deputy First Minister John Swinney hinted there could be an extension of the covid vaccine passport to some parts of the hospitality sector due to rising cases.
More than 3,000 cases of the virus have been recorded in Scotland in the last 24 hours which is the fifth day in a row they have exceeded 3,000.
