Covid cases now at highest point in Lanarkshire since the New Year peak

iOS - Android Last week saw the third most new coronavirus cases in any week since the beginning of the pandemic in March 2020 and it was also the highest weekly tally since the new year peak in week beginning January 4 when 2353 were recorded.It was also the ninth consecutive week in which Covid-19 cases have increased across the county after falling to their lowest level for eight months at the end of April.Last week, the rate of new cases in Lanarkshire was lower than the national average.Deaths from coronavirus also increased in June after eight people died last month after testing positive – up from two in May.In total, 49,052 people have tested positive for coronavirus in Lanarkshire and 1331 people have died from the virus.Sign up.
