COVID-19 spread in workplaces and the impact a workplace cluster can have on the surrounding community.The data, released Thursday, looked at the two biggest health regions in the province: Vancouver Coastal Health and Fraser Health.In Coastal Health, restaurants, bars and lounges were by far the sites of the biggest clusters in February and March, with clusters detected at 70 businesses that resulted in 155 cases.Fitness studios and gyms came in a distant second with about 18 sites affected, resulting in 40 cases.Offices, other workplaces and industrial and manufacturing businesses round out the top five.

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lankan President Gotabaya Rajapaksa on Wednesday (9) said that his policies and the policies of the government were prepared with the future generations in mind.President Rajapaksa assured that all promises will be fulfilled.He said the government is facing challenges in various sectors, including education, agriculture, and electricity.Noting that the economy is reviving following the pandemic, President Rajapaksa urged the masses to obtain the booster dose and not leave any reason for the country to go into lockdown again.The President urged the public sector employees to fulfill their duties and responsibilities in line with the government’s policy statement.“I promised the farmers that fertilizer will be given for free and the certified price for paddy will be increased, and that was my first duty,” said the President while addressing a crowd at the Salgado Stadium in Anuradhapura.The President also promised to increase the income of the local farmers by 100% with or without fertilizer.

BC Ferries to deny non-essential travel on multiple routes as part of COVID-19 restrictions
BC Ferries confirmed Friday that it will deny travel to customers travelling for non-essential reasons on routes crossing regional zones.The province announced Friday that it is splitting B.C. up into three regional zones in order to enforce new travel restrictions.The new order prohibits non-essential travel between Lower Mainland and the Fraser Valley (Fraser Health and Coastal Health regions), Vancouver Island (Island Health region) and Northern/Interior (Interior Health and Northern Health regions).BC Ferries says the new order will affect the following routes:Customers on those routes will be asked if their travel is essential and will be denied passage if it’s not essential.
